Communication with your Dog

Eva is a Princess and everybody's life revolves around her needs, there is no doubt about that.

Ever since she was big enough to have two meals a day, my husband has been waking up at 6 to 6.30 in the morning to feed her (one hour earlier than he would have normally, had we not had her.) Because she sleeps alone downstairs in her own room, we don't actually know what time she gets up. My hubby says that most of the time, when he goes downstairs, she is already awake and waiting for her food, therefore, he has a responsibility to get up for her! Having slept together with her a few times, while we go on holidays, we have decided that she normally gets up at 4, and then goes back to sleep.

Daddy is my servant!

During the evenings, for her second meal, she is very good at asking for her food. For instance, she realized that after doing a toilet, would she then get her meal. Therefore, nowadays, around 4.30 to 5, she would always ask to go out!! By doing that, she would sit next to my husband who is normally on the computer, and jump on him. (By the way, she only does this to him. Apparently, she feels I don't understand her like he does!!)

Eva has an internal alarm clock and she loves routine!
Carrying the camera would mean going out for pictures.
BUT carrying her crate would mean you would have a sheltie glued to you wherever you go because that means CAR RIDE!!!

We would also like to say happy 23 months to this little princess!!!

P.S. If you like the new header above and would like one, let me know ;) Rosie has been making them.

They certainly do have a routine. My guys know the difference between weekdays and weekends.

Rosie has done some beautiful banners. I love the one she did for Eva's blog, it's fit for a princess!!

Yes, that is a lovely header! I like how the season of fall is featured and the photo's of Eva look great.

Routines...yes, I get up with our pets usually 6 to 6:30 and on rare occasions maybe we get to sleep in till 7! I just wish that was on the weekend.

With our new pup routines are still evolving. Thankfully he is sleeping through the night now.

you new header is so pretty! I love those colors. im totally jealous - i dont have those skills.

Oh how I understand what oyur husband is going through - its even worse with Fred who HAS to be medicated every 12 hours cause of his phenobarbitol. So during the week I feed them at 4:45am which is when I get up for work but they want 4:45 on the weekends... I do it cause they whine and whine.

Happy 23 months :)

Our boys have a similar schedule, but Sammy is the one with the clock! He knows when dinner should be served, and mid-day break - we are just thankful he is understanding about us wanting to sleep in on Saturdays!

Ricky loves routine too although he is good about sleeping until I get up. He starts asking for dinner about two hours before it's actually time.

Rosie makes beautiful headers and banners!

You have a very good dad. Sometimes we have to hop right on top of our pawrents while they are still sleeping to make them get up to cater to our needs.

That is a beautiful header. Rosie must be very talented!!

I *love* the header!

It's so funny how the dogs choose to communicate. Layla sometimes carries over her food dish as if she's Snoopy.

I love Rosies headers!! She's so talented!

As for dogs telling time and letting us know, I want to do a post about that sometime. I get home at 9:30 pm on some nights and at 7:30 pm other nights and my husband says they know which nights cause on the 9:30 pm nights they start waiting for me at the door at 9:00 pm. Magnus used to wake up at 6:00 am no matter what time I wanted to wake up. Dogs do tell time!!

BTW, your 23 month old girl is gorgeous!!

The Newfs have a pretty set routine too, but after reading this I think they would like it if your husband would come over for a few days and cater to them too:) Eva is so lucky!

The new header is gorgeous! Good job Rosie!!

I think Daddy may jump a little faster (i.e. fall for Eva's antics) than you do...

Eva has daddy where she wants him LOL! Lovely you header of the gorgeous Eva! 23 months already, where does the time go! Khandi is the exact same! If I lie to long I wake up to a face wash or that feeling of staring LOL! She also knows the time's later in the day and will look at me and where the treats are way too clever is she!

Katie and I LOVE the new header! She is the same kind of princess. I have to get up between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. every single day because she wants to get up. And she always knows when it's dinner time. My husband and I both do her bidding, because it's just easier that way. She is such a princess, just like Eva!

Isn't it amazing how they have their routine. I've also noticed my dogs asking Mike for things like dinner or to go out, instead of me. I wonder why this is . . . I've done these things for them countless times, but they seem to ask him. Oh well, ours are treating like royalty too, and Eva is a princess, so why not. :) I just commented on your lovely new header on the previous post I read. Please tell Rosie she did an AMAZING job!!! I was really impressed!
