Vet visit

Hi, it's me, Eva here. My mom asked me to do the latest report of our vet visit here as she has been busy lately.

We're going to the vet later!

As you all know that since Uncle Mika had the car accident, he became the main focus at home. I'm always left unnoticed and I'm a little upset about it. Besides, I've to take over most of his duties too.
Got to look serious during my shift

Anyway, I shouldn't grumble and complain here. He's my uncle and I've to respect him. Okay, let's come back to the vet visit.

We arrived at the clinic 5 minutes before it opened so we had to wait for it. As the clinic is facing a very busy main road, I was busy watching all the different moving objects, it's really interesting! Uncle didn't bother about the moving objects at all, he was only interested in sniffing other's
pees. I wasn't interested in it, well, I did sniff at it but once I knew it's smelly, I walked away. However, Mika is different, he would take a deep breath and sniff at it hard again and again, he didn't look happy with them either.

While he was sniffing around the outside of the clinic, he was hopping with his 3 legs. The 4th leg was always hanging in the air. My mom was quite upset with him because she works hard every day to make sure he has enough walking, stretching and swimming.

My uncle Mika is a cool guy. He can run very fast and hop like a rabbit with only 3 legs! While he's swimming, he can't act cool anymore because he has to use the leg NO.4 to kick the water. So my mom is happy and cheekily extended a little bit of time each day. Luckily Uncle Mika doesn't know how much time he has to be soaked in the water,  I wouldn't want to know either. Brrr... Shudder!!!
Doesn't he look he enjoys it?

Mom and Dad also walk Mika every morning. He finally uses his leg NO. 4 more frequently during the walks lately but only when he's on leash. Once the leash is off, he hops happily again as if nothing has happened. He told me he just does it to please Mom and Dad while they are walking him.

So while we were waiting for the clinic to open, Mika didn't use the leg No. 4 at all.
BUT once the assistant came to open the door, guess what??? Leg No. 4 touched down!!! Can you believe it???

My mom was so surprised, she couldn't believe her eyes at all. That injured leg was walking, a bit limping and slow but my uncle was walking with his 4 legs all the time while he was at the clinic. The vet praised him all the time and gave him loads of treats! Even his assistant gave him some treats. Uncle Mika was so happy and wagged his tail so hard that I was so worried that his tail would fall off!

Me? I didn't get that much attention and treats though. In fact, I behaved much better at the clinic because I always sat and watched the passing vehicles but Uncle Mika always pulled the leash and sniffed around.

The vet said Mika's muscle is coming back a bit, I guess it means he has more muscles! He also told my mom to keep the walking, swimming and stretching. Sigh!!! Attention is still on Mika.

Another shocking news was Uncle Mika is on the weight GAINING programme! The vet said he should have more food!!! Can you believe it? I've never heard of this before, don't people just talk about weight CONTROL???
He doesn't need extra food, does he?

It's so sad to hear that I've the perfect weight. I don't get a chance to have one extra biscuit at all! How I wish the scale was faulty!
However, my mom was so proud of herself that she could maintain my weight like what she does to herself, sigh! Woman!!!

I've a little problem with my two front paws though. There are a little lump on my right paw and a pinky patch on my left knee. We went to two vets, the first one said it was nothing serious and sent us home without giving me anything. However, the red lump didn't look good to my mom so she took me to the second vet. He suspected it might be something called ATOPY but he isn't sure about it yet. It seems it's something related to skin disease, things like yeast. If we really want to find it out, I should go for a detailed blood test but this isn't 100% accurate either. He gave me a lotion and some tablets which are for me not to feel the itchiness so I won't lick them. I hope they work for me because my mom is so worried about me.
See my pinky spots?

After all the praises again for Uncle Mika from the vet again, we finally went home.

Something unbelievable happened again! Once my uncle Mika stepped out of the clinic, leg NO. 4 was in the air again as if he had never used that leg before at all! I was so dumbfounded  and my mom said Uncle Mika was so pretentious!!! I think he's a great actor though! He had got so many treats because he was walking like me. I wonder why I didn't get as much as his and I always walk with four legs. Weird!!!

Uncle Mika was so proud of himself and he kept on talking about the vet visit.

Oops! Sorry for this lengthy report. Mom said I was a bit too long-winded but I just wanted to give you a detailed report.

Vet check-up

We took both dogs to the vet yesterday.
Eva for her deworming tablet and Mika for his leg.

We had been wondering when Mika would put his leg down, if he'd ever.
It tTurns out that there might be some sort of discomfort in his foot because when the vet pressed on his paw, he gave a loud yelp.

He's going to have another x-ray next week to take another look.

Guess who's monthly-anniversary it was on Monday?

Visiting the Vet

Eva had her last puppy jab this morning which means she can start exploring the outside world soon... Yay...

Hey, I'm visiting the vet, will be back soon!

Our Princess Eva was quite excited when she saw me taking the crate out. I guessed she knew it means a car ride awaiting for her. So, there was no problems of getting her into the crate and I think she was really eager to get in it too.

What's up? At the clinic now?

We had a very smooth journey to the vet. Nobody was at the reception but we could hear people talking in the surgery room as the door slightly ajar. Eva was pretty excited and restless in the crate as she moved a lot in it. Suddenly she made the first move, a 'puppy woof' from her and before I warned that she'd better behave herself, a 'LOUD WOOF' as a reply from the surgery room. It was so hilarious to see our little Eva was shocked, jerked a bit and kept very still and quiet since then, she definitely didn't expect any barking like her Grandma Laura in the clinic because she only met little kitties during the past visits.

I was so glad that our little Eva behaved so well and made no fuss during the check-up. Even the vet praised her and gave her lots of treats. Of course our little Eva was very happy to have those yummy treats as a reward. However, she didn't even know that while she was enjoying her treats, the vet gave her the jab. No yelping, screaming and wrestling at the clinic if you all know that she can be a drama queen sometimes. Everything was pleasant and smooth.

When we reached home, little Eva still looked really alright and she played with Laura and Mika for awhile.
I got some yummy treats from the vet!

However, things changed 2 hours later. The hyperactive puppy transformed into a very very quiet puppy who showed no interest in meal. Instead of wagging her tail when she saw her lunch, she just sat there staring at the food and wondering whether she should eat it or not. Well, she finally couldn't ignore her hunger and realised food was important so she finished it all. Again, it was so unusual that she didn't run in the garden and didn't disturb the two adults even though they were there after her lunch. Poor little Eva just either stood at a spot for a long time or sat in her playpen and made no movement most of the time.

She is so quiet and she looks so upset!

No, I can't walk anymore!!!
I'm in pain!!! (Do I look like it?)

Hope she gets better soon.
Where's our naughty, hyperactive, cheeky Eva?

Random thoughts of the day

A little update here:
After the vet visit, Eva started feeling the pain ... for a few hours.
She even ran away from me. :( and hid under her mummy.

I think she really was in pain, and it looked like she was crying.

Doesn't she look sad?
The poor baby.

Just looking at you ...

She couldn't walk, couldn't pee. Maybe it was really painful for her.

But of course, she could still do this. Hehe.

Few hours later, she is alright again, which is a huge relief.

Original post:
We took our precious little Eva and her mummy Hana to the vet this morning. For Hana, I just wanted an assurance from the vet that her skin is getting better and to hear the vet tell me himself that Hana's skin is actually recovering from the hormone changes. I know it's indeed my own problem as KK had told me a couple of times that Hana's skin was fine, however, a confirmation from the vet would sound much better and I felt that the words from the vet could give me peace of mind.

Eva is 7 weeks old now so she had her microchip implanted and her first jab of her life. I must say it wasn't pleasant at all to see the vet implant the microchip into the nape of her neck and a minute later, a jab on her thigh. However, little Eva didn't make any noise at all, I think she didn't even blink her eyes. Didn't she feel the pain? The vet said she wouldn't feel anything at all. I wonder if it's either that the vet is so experienced and he knows exactly which spot is painless for the puppies or the puppies actually don't feel anything at all.

The vet also read Eva's eyes and said she is a sneaky cheeky fella who is full of confidence because of all the love from us and her mom AND she has eyes of DETERMINATION as her eyes look clear and firm. She has characters!!!

Having a newborn pup in our family was an out-of-the-question issue before the arrival of Hana and the birth of Eva, but because of both of them, the world of my family has been changed tremendously. Having this blog here is a very good example of it; writing a blog was never in my to-do-lists at all, NO, I'd never imagined that I would have a blog talking about my beloved doggies and share everything with blog friends online. However, with my daughter's encouragement and 100% support, here I am now!

I am thankful that we're so blessed to have the foursome with us. We pray that Laura is fit and healthy, Mika will be more mature, Hana's beautiful coat will be back and shiny in no time and Eva, to grow big and strong, healthy and happy... :-)

The trio keeps us safe and sound
