The Infestation of Ticks

These few days, we have been finding lots of ticks, big and small, on Eva. WEIRD! We have no idea where they could have come from because she hasn't been out much lately, except in the garden. Even though I've put Frontline on her just recently, I've still found ticks here and there. Poor girl, she's always itching! But she's a good girl, staying still while we're tick hunting.

In the meantime, she's enjoying lots of play time with ball, bone, and frisbee with her daddy!

And sometimes...the odd slipper does get her attention!

We are also sorry to hear that our dear friends at Rottrover have lost their beloved boy, Gizmo to the Cancer Monster. RIP dear Gizmo.

Thanks, Eva. We HATE ticks and sometimes find them in the summer here. Hope you get rid of them :-)

Ticks are tricky little bugs. So hard to find on Shelties too with all their lovely long hair. When you see them on the belly or head or when you feel a lump and begin the hands on go over you most times may not even know they are on them.

We lost our beloved Golden to cancer this past year...very sorry for the loss of Gizmo to his family.

I love your photos!

No ticks or fleas here where we live, but we did get our first few snow flakes today! Guess it is just to cold for those little buggers!

Eva, your coat looks so beautiful as to frolic and play.

Found the first tick that wasn't dead on Katy this weekend. She and Bailey are both on Frontline so perhaps this guest didn't have a chance to die off yet. Katy was a good sport about getting it off.

Maybe you have had wandering visitors in your yard - a stray cat perhaps.

Sorry about the ticks Eva, so far I have never had any on me, the cats however do manage to get some on them. They are treated with Advantage Multi for Cats and I am treated with Trifexis. ~Fenris

oh Eva how dare those nasty ticks embed themselves in your beautiful fur!

I wonder if they could be coming from the grass? Are they on Mika too?

Have those cats been around?

Poor Eva, what a good sport she is!

Loved seeing her play!

I am so sorry about your friend Gizmo, that is awful news ((((hugs)))))

Glad we don't see many ticks here, maybe it's too cold.

Sorry to hear about Gizmo. I know how difficult losing a furbaby is to cancer.

Ticks and fleas have been bad here as well. Hope you get them all off soon.

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. :(

The thing to remember about Frontline is that the ticks have to bite her before it works on them. It's not something that will just repel them.

Eva is as cute as ever, no matter what she's doing or what she's playing with!

Ticks! Uck! Hate 'em. We get our yard treated and keep the lawn trimmed sharply, but all it seems to take is one little clump of tall grass and you've got 'em.

Sorry about the ticks. ugh. Do you have Lyme disease there like we have here? Kelly got Lyme disease from deer ticks before, and so did our other dog before. I hope not! And I hope the ticks all run away fast!

I don't think we have ticks here. I've never seen one!
