Petrified
Priscilla here:
Today, we went to visit a lady who does boarding for dogs and also fosters unwanted dogs, because we are planning on leaving Eva with her when my husband and I visit Tasmania next year. It was just the right timing when some of Rosie's husky friends were going to have a gathering there so we decided to pop in and take a look at the surroundings.
Just as we arrived, Eva had obviously sensed something because she refused to get out of the car and into the house. (She never does this!) So with a little shoving from us, she entered and was greeted by a group of huskies, all bigger than her, may I add! They were friendly, but obviously this strange object required them to 'gang up' on her!
I think Eva was terrified of all the huskies. She didn't like it when one of the pups wanted to play with her, and went to her submissive pose many times.
She then got dumped into the pool and swam a few rounds, showing everyone how elegant she was!
There are no words to describe how unhappy this girl was. But if you imagine that our greedy little girl refused to eat any yummy treats, you can pretty much understand it.
She was ok with the smaller dogs, though, which is good. For boarding, the large and small dogs are kept separated, so it means that she should be fine.
We also met a gorgeous foster rottie there. She is beautiful and absolutely loves the water. Everytime you throw a toy in the pool, she will jump in and get it. She has a wonderful temperament too! Her name is Rottie.
Eva is sleeping soundly now, four legs in the air.
After all, home is always the safest place to be.

It's a tough life for a little princess - those big dogs would have been so scary
New places can be scary. All those different smells, new dogs big and small. It was good to check it out and acquaint yourself with what they do there.
We have been blessed to have a great guy come and house sit for us when we need to go away. Of course we have other pets...kitties and chickens. Someone has to be here.
So Eva would be staying with the little dogs? You wouldn't want her to be stressed the whole time you are gone... Rottie is gorgeous.

AW, we huskerboos can be a bit overbearing, new places can be scary too, hopefully woo have more fun next time, play bows,

Poor Eva....Oreo would've had a complete meltdown.
Sorry you had a rough day Eva....everything will be okay....
Oh Eva! I can so relate to you. I have developed a minor fear of huskies myself...due to some rather aggressive encounters at the dog parks here. We have many huskies up here and some are not well socialized and in packs they can get quite "pushy".
You should be fine with the smaller dogs. So sorry you can't go with your folks but best you stay away from those Tasmanian Devils !
What a stressful time for you, Eva! Stay away from the big dogs and you'll be okay.
Love ya lots

I think you and Eva did a great job in that mob of big but gorgeous huskies! Hopefully this will work as a good place to leave Eva when you travel. Too bad she can't come and stay with us! :)
oh poor Eva!!! I seriously almost cried when I read this!
The poor baby sensed something.
That is good that the large dogs are separated from the smaller dogs but Eva is used to having soooo much attention, is there any way someone can watch her in your home while you are away? What about Mika?
Poor Eva! I am sorry to hear that you were so nervous at your visit today, but it looks like everyone really liked you!
Aww..poor Eva. I bet she was scared but Huskies are pretty nice. :)
Looks very nice there.
I am sure that would be a scary place to visit the first time, but we are sure you will like it just fine when you get use to it. You'll even make lots of new furiends. You'll see!!
AROOOOOF!
Boondocks & The Love Shack Pack
I would be scared too, Eva. I'm a big dog, but I get scared when there are so many new friends to meet all at once. I'm more of a one-on-one dog.

Eva, I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your first visit; but I'm glad to hear everyone likes you!!

Poor Eva!
Malamutes are MUCH cooler than Huskies ;)
I wish you could meet my Layla! Two elegant ladies would have a very nice visit.
New places can be scary, especially with a bunch of dogs ganging up on you! I wouldn't have liked it, either!

Oh Eva, you are such a good sport. I can imagine how scared you must have been with all those "big ole dogs." I'm glad that you will be with the little dogs when you go there for your vacay. You are just a sweetheart.
Looks like a day of FUN!!!
Look at all those fur-friends!!
Cheers,
Maxx
Poor Eva, that sounds like a little too much adventure for her!
We are sorry that Eva didn't like to go visit that doggies! Sometimes big dogs can be scary...
Rottie is so beautiful!
There is no place quite like home!

Eva is one smart girl!! She knows what is going on. They never want them to leave them anywhere but where you are. You can't blame them for that at all!!
xx, Fern
Awww Eva -- my furry sister Nala knows how you feel. I hope things will be OK for you when you go to doggie camp. :)
Woofs & hugs, <3
~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)
Aw. Hope you'll visit there often and will find it a fun place to be. A pool? Nice!!!
Sapphire would go bonkers with those large dogs- guess she doesn't know how to pick her own size ;P
I can imagine Eva sleeping now. Smooch.
Oh my goodness. Those Husky's better leave you alone and pick on someone their own size. I get into that submissive pose when I go to the vet. I hope there are nicer smaller dogs at that camp when you go there next time.
Oh poor Eva, I'll bet being surrounded by all of those larger dogs was pretty scary!! Luckily they just wanted to play and were not wanting to beat up on her, BOL. It's interesting to me about the belly up submissive pose of dogs, because for cats it's kind of the opposite -- they will usually only show their belly when they are totally secure and not feeling threatened.
When Katie won't accept a treat from me I know she's overly stressed. I hope Eva can hang out with the smaller dogs and be OK during your trip! I know how hard it is to find the right place for our furkids.
That can be so scary. When we're hiking and meet someone new, I try to keep the dogs from "dog piling" the new pup!
Oh, that rotten is GORGEOUS!
It's always te most difficult on the first few days at the boarding.. after that it will be easy peasy.. Don't worry too much Priscilla! Princess Eva will be just fine and may I add, lots of fun with the other doggies..
