A doggy day out

Today we went to an event hosted by our local shelter.
The highlight of the day was a doggy play pen outside where the dogs could go off-leash and socialise with the supervision of two trainers.

First the big dogs had their time in pen.
The huskies all knew each other very well.

Then the small dogs got their turn. Unfortunately, there was no one of Eva's size.
They were either smaller

Or bigger

But then, look who we met!

Our friend, Hero!

Eva wasn't too pleased with Hero sniffing her.

But then, she had to survive with this all the time.
(with different little dogs)

We tried to get Hero and Eva to have a picture together, but as you can see, it wasn't very successful :)

It was a good day out, and after having lunch with Hero's humans, we came back with a very tired sheltie girl. Although Eva is still wary of other dogs, I think that her boarding time has helped her get over a lot of her fear of others.

It was a great outing and the more little Eva other dogs - the more use to them she will become and she was of coarse the prettiest princess there !

Looks like you all had a great day! I could use some socializing like that, or so says Parental Unit.

Forgive us, but we don't know who Hero is...?

Awwwww...shy little Eva. My baby was ok around much bigger dogs then her but was so afraid of little dogs. I could never figure it out. Looks like it was a good day! Happy Valentines Day♥

Katie doesn't really like to play with other dogs either, and she sure doesn't like to have her behind sniffed! Glad Eva got to spend some time with Hero though! What a cutie she is, and he's so handsome!

Eva I don't like my butt sniffed either! If anyone is gonna sniff butts it is gonna be US sniffing THEM!!

Glad to hear you are less fearful of other doggies but ALWAYS keep your guard up! Shelties have to approve of everyone first!

Got to love that Sheltie disdainful look when they're being sniffed too much. My puppy Buffy does that too but she's always polite about it.

Eva does look a little concerned, but she too freaked out. It's hard to put them in situations outside of their normal comfort zone, but hopefully the more she does it, the easier it will get.
