My Boarding Story

Missed me?

I was taken to the groomers' today because mom said that my fur was a bit messy and matted here and there. But it doesn't mean I wasn't well taken care of! Sheltie owners will know how hard it is to keep the fur on us looking pretty!

Well, let me tell you about my boarding.

For the first few days, I was quite unsettled, following the woman around everywhere she went and not liking the others sniffing me. I went on my back many times with the submissive pose when the dogs became too scary.

But that all changed a week later.

I became Miss Noisy (as you all know, going cracker dog at fireworks and thunder) - even the other dogs got a bit annoyed and told me off, but you know me being so persistent with it, they gave up. Okay, so I did get a few scoldings from the woman but I gotta protect them, you know!

And I started playing with the BIG guys and getting them to chase me. Oh, what fun we had!!

Oh, and guess what! Since then, I've never gone belly up with my submissive pose ever again!

So, all in all, guess what. I did NOT want to go home when my humans came and picked me up!

Eva I am glad that you ended up having a good time at the boarding home. I know well the need of a Sheltie to "talk" a lot too. It can annoy many but your family understands and lets you get some talking out before they tell you "quiet". It may be really important stuff you need to let the humans know!
Like someone coming to the door at home.

What a bonus to make some new friends too.

WHAT????!!! You "did NOT want to go home???" EVA!!! Are you kidding?

I am so happy you didn't return to the submissive pose, but not wanting to go home? That doesn't sound like you!!

I am so happy that you adjusted and had a good time though. To answer your question, YES WE MISSED YOU!!

It's always wonderful to here when a pup loves the boarding facility. We had a wonderful place to board our dogs when we lived in Missouri, but since moving to Arizona, I haven't found a place I like. Well, first of all, it is over three times the cost per day and when you have 2 pups, it practically costs more than the hotel we would be staying in! Glad you are home and getting all prettied up for more pictures.

Chloe our sheltie is slated for a bath today and I know how much work it is to keep a nice sheltie coat staying that way. Glad the boarding vacation went well ;-)
