A lot of fun in the house

Hi everyone. Miss Eva here!

You are probably wondering how my new buddy, Blackie is doing. With us dogs, she's perfectly fine and friendly. With the humans, however, she is quite shy and timid and will only come if they have food.

She is quite a naughty girl. She dug 3 BIG HOLES last night!! Compared to her, well, I dare say, I'm a little princess. Blackie is residing outside with Mika but whenever she hears me going out to the garden for a toilet, she will come and say hi and we will wag our tails at each other. Once she even tried to push over the fence to play with me!

We love playing 'catch me if you can'

We were playing very happily until....

She started nipping my neck.
First of all, Princess Eva does not tolerate other dogs (with the exception of her mother) nipping her neck.
And second of all, an excess of SALIVA on my beautiful coat!
I couldn't stand it and ended the game immediately.

Did I ever mention that I am a very very clean dog?
You should see the way Blackie drinks water. It's like she hasn't drunk for ages, and she licks so roughly.
Worst of all, she leaves all her saliva in the bowl. I have to go all the way back to the kitchen to ask my mommy for some clean water out of my own water bowl!

Some of you have been asking about my Uncle Mika.
1 week after his operation, the hoomies have been swimming him and now he is swimming 30 minutes daily. They are also walking him in circles to try and get him to use his leg. Sometimes, it will touch the ground, but he still isn't using it :( Hopefully, the swimming can help build up his muscle and hopefully with a bigger muscle, he can start using his leg again.

Sounds like you guys are having some fun.

Hopefully she will realize that the humans are nice and not that bad and will come around.

Sorry that Mika isn't using the leg the proper way. :(

You two are becoming fast friends. Although Eva, I didn't realize you were such a girlie girl! You really are used to being treated like royalty. Only fresh water for the Princess! I'm proud of you for making sure all your demands are met immediately :)

I hope one day soon Mika will surprise you and take that first step.

I had an article on my old computer about how to encourage weight bearing in dogs with limb problems. I'll see if I can find it, and email it too you. It was all stuff you could do at home.

Sounds like Blackie is vacationing in a good place with a nice doggie like Eva to let him know how doggies like to be treated, a good lesson for a young pup to learn, LOL. Digging holes, Blackie must have a lot of puppy energy!

Sounds like you've got a lot going on. It's always hard to adjust to company. They do things one way, you do things another and it's just not easy sometimes. But it's often worth it. I hope that Mika continues to improve with the all the swimming therapy he's getting.

lotsa licks, Lola

Sounds like Blackie is having a very good time at your house!

I don't blame you, Eva, because I won't drink out of a bowl that other dogs have used either! No slobbery water for me! I'd rather go without!

Hope the swimming does the trick for Mika's leg!

Some fun times there! That is a saliva situation you have going on there, but sounds like you have it under control! Glad to hear Mika is taking quite well to the therapeutics! Yay.

Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

Eva, I let Morgan know that princesses don't play with me in their mouths, too!

Good luck to Mika!

Blackie looks like so much fun!

I hear ya about the fresh water part, Sherman won't drink out of the water bowl if someone else drank from it first, it needs to be fresh and clean!

Glad to hear about Mika's update.
Besides the walking and water excercises do you do any other excercises with her, like leg extensions while she is relaxing , just wondering, I find the rehab intersting.

I quite under stand, a girl has to keep her hair looking good, mom says a drink like a camel don't drink for along time then empty the bowl!!! but I don't dig holes like most terriers do ;)
Thanks for the update on Mika

Oh Eva I wouldn't like someone nipping and slobbering on my neck one bit either! I don't blame you! You need to teach him some manners!

I think he is just so excited and happy to be living with such nice people and he loves you so much that he just can't contain himself!

Maybe when he digs the holes he is looking for buried treasures? Or bones???

We hope that Mika will get his strength back and will be able to use his leg. We do know that he is happy though and THAT is good!!

Love, Cody and Caren

Poor Princess Eva. I probably wouldn't like all that slobber in my pretty hair either. Blackie just needs to learn his manners. You are very nice to play with him anyway.

I hope Mika recovers soon!

Kelly says she knows how difficult it is to deal with others when you are a beautiful princess! haha. But Blackie still looks like fun. I'm glad Mika is improving.

I don't blame you one bit for not wanting slobber in your beautiful fur, Eva. Hopefully, Blackie will learn how to play without all the mess. It amazes me what dogs can learn from other dogs, so maybe Blackie will follow Eva's lead on that. I hope Mika continues to heal nicely. It looks like you're having fun with the new camera. I use the Sports and Auto settings a lot on mine. I've only used manual settings for especially tricky things, like photographing the moon. As long as DSLRs give such good results in the automatic settings, it's hard to leave them. It can get so technical in manual modes. :) Here's wishing you a very happy weekend! Have fun!
