I have had a wonderful month, it was exhausting yet interesting. I spent the first week attending many concerts at Rosie's school; the concerts were great and it was a delight to watch all the school children playing their instruments. Rosie played her solo performance and she also accompanied many other string players.
After London, both of us went to Hamburg as Rosie was attending a 10 days summer course. She was the youngest participant but I think it was a very good opportunity for her to learn from those big students from university.
We went to Berlin straight after the summer course. Rosie was a fantastic tour guide and took me to many MUST-VISIT tourist spots. The buildings are magnificent and the scenery is just gorgeous. We spent two and a half days in Berlin before we joined a tour to Dresden, a place which was almost destroyed by the air raids during WWII.
You might think that we should be home after the Germany trip, right? Well, we seized a chance to visit Lian before catching our flight home.
Let's see the places that we had visited:
Beware!!!
These are NO postcards but all taken by our not-so-little photographer in the making. I'm sure you know whom I'm talking about. Tee hee!
Stade.
A little town that we stayed in while Rosie was having her summer course.
It is very small and basically consists of a little town centre with all the shops.
A very lovely place though.
We took the bus from Hamburg to Berlin, found our service apartment without any difficulty, and then went to the city centre where all the big tourist attractions are.
Brandenburg Gate
Berlin Cathedral
Victory Monument - from afar and close up
East Berlin is also interesting and we visited the Wall in the East Side Gallery.
Many beautiful graffiti drawings there.
Well, after two days in Berlin, we had basically covered all the main tourist attractions so Rosie decided to go to the zoo!!!!
And our favourite animal was the...
POLAR BEAR
We saw a panda but it was sleeping and it had one of its big paws covering the most part of his handsome face : ((
Dresden was the most beautiful place we visited.
Everywhere looked like a postcard. Even though most of it was destroyed in WWII, they had rebuilt the buildings really well and it really was a great sight to visit.
