This is rather a late update on Mika.
Few weeks ago when Rosie was home, we found that he was not looking very well.
He started stumbling, not being able to walk properly, not having any balance. He couldn't really sit or stand still, for that matter. Lying down was a painstaking job for him.
We thought that perhaps, his leg that had had the surgery had maybe come out of its socket. Also, we could tell that he was weak and very very ill.
So we took him to the vet's. Blood test came back fine - no problems with kidneys and liver, thank God!
But the vet was worried that he might have some sort of neurological disorder, which explained the loss of balance and the head tilt when he was walking. We got antibiotics and luckily, he got better the next day and even better the day after that. He was back to normal so soon it was hard to believe that just a few days ago, he looked like he was almost at death's door.
We are still keeping an eye out for any signs of neurological disorders - eye colour changes, head tilts, jaw movements, and of course, seizures. But so far, *touch wood* he is okay.
Mika is so strong and so hardy that it is unbelievable. He still suffers from yeast infections constantly - there seems to be nothing that cures it - his immunity is very weak.
But still, he always exudes this happy-go-lucky personality (unless a bath is involved!).
Eva and Mika make a formidable pair, wouldn't you say?
