You must be saying, "another one?!"
Don't worry. This one is about turtles and not shelties :)
During the turtle watching season, many will come to lay their eggs on Cherating beach.
We were lucky to be there when some eggs at the Turtle Sanctuary had just hatched and it was time to release the baby turtles into the sea. They will swim for 5 days until they reach someplace safe and usually, only 10% make it.

Here they are in a box |
Rosie got a turtle to release into the sea and that's the first ever time she had ever touched a non-mammal (she totally dislikes amphibians and reptiles) and she was probably the only one on the beach that kept saying "gross!". BOL. Anyway, apparently the body was fine to touch but its fins were hard and spiky and kept itching her hand :P

Here she is with her turtle baby |

A close-up |

|
Even closer |
Hope she didn't squeeze its body too hard!
Then on the count of 3, all the people's turtles were released into the sea being cheered on!
|
Can you see the little green figures? |
|
Rosie's turtle can't wait to go! |
|
|
It's a race to the sea! |

And finally in the water |

How cute! What a fun experience. Not sure how I would have felt about holding one, but they sure are adorable.
Yay Rosie for touching the turtles! I have to say I usually agree with Rosie about touching amphibians but those baby turtles are just precious!!! I have never seen them as babies like that.
So sad though that only 10% survive....I pray that this time all of them do!
Thanks for showing us these adorable babies but I have to say....I missed Eva :)
But I DID love the baby turtles! :)
It's really fun releasing those baby turtles... hope many of them will survive in the big wide ocean out there.

p.s. I hope to be great furriends too! I really enjoy reading other doggies blogs.
Oh, they are very cute. The last day we were at the beach they were going to uncover one of the sea turtles nest to count how many hatched and how many were left. And then any that have hatched but havent made it to the ocean, they let you carry down. But we left that morning and they werent doing it until 5pm. How cool for you guys!! Diana
That is so cool!! I am glad Rosie did it even if she wasn't too sure - it was an experience of a life time!
What a great experience for Rosie! Those are cute little turtles!

What a cool experience. Those little guys are adorable, though I'm sure they feel strange to hold.
How cool is that! They almost look like little birds.
Just hopping through during the blog hop this week.
